This hotel is located about 2 blocks from the main hotel, but is best suited for those wishing to stay extra days or for dealers who have to arrive early. The rooms come with working kitchens and is easily accessible to the main hotel. The Residence also offers a full buffet breakfast with your room price.

Please remember to book your rooms soon, we expect these hotels to sell out as well. We have sold out every year, so don’t expect this to be any different. We will also be decorating the satellite hotels as well.

The Grand Royale is considered first class passage. It gives you extra perks and mementos for the weekend to make the journey more fun and memorable. Starting this year we will also be offering a new ticket; consider this one to be for a more Royal passage. It is called the Balmoral.

While both offer the same perks, the Balmoral offers more features and added bonuses to make the voyage even more custom designed to your preferred experience. One main difference this year is we will NOT be using Eventbrite for ticket purchases. Basically we lost too much to banking fees. This year we will be doing something different.

Registrations can be made by filling out an online form, those tickets will be held on a first-come, first-serve basis. Confirmations emails will be issued by Lord Bobbins for the number of tickets you requested. You then have 10 days to send in your payment.

Dear TeslaCon Fans:

Our newest updates shows some interesting trends. We continue to trend at about 12-15 tickets being sold a week. More than we have ever sold before, this far out. Remember we still have tickets at $45 a piece. These are tickets for the entire weekend and are inclusive for all events*.

Secondly, the news is going big with pre-booked more rooms for this years TeslaCon. As of today we have more rooms booked for this years event than all rooms combined for last year. We are now over 616 rooms! Now don’t worry,  we still have half the hotel to go. This means we will have the “entire” hotel to ourselves. Folks it costs nothing to book now- we will also add a hotel if needed. The secondary hotel is just across the parking lot from the main hotel and would have a shuttle between the two. YOU MUST CALL THE HOTEL TO RECEIVE ANY DISCOUNTED PRICE!

We will also be having more food at the hotel available for you. Along with a specialized menu again we will see the return of Lord Bobbins Fish & Chips and now introducing LB’s southern cousin featuring his premium Fried Chicken and Fries.

This last week TeslaCon and Eric Larson (Lord Bobbins) started a partnership with the Madison Ballet. Over the next year TeslaCon will be advising and helping to promote “Steampunk Dracula” the ballet’s newest show premiering next Spring. In regards for making reservations for the next TeslaCon. Those people who pre-register before the 31st of January will get a special rate at the hotel.

However… you must wait for us to finish the register list first. ONLY those people who have pre-registered will receive the special rate. The hotel will have your name and will check it off as you book.

This is the reason we asked for peoples “legal names” and that every registration has a name attached to it. For those worried about getting a room… Relax. This is the largest hotel in Madison and we already have a secondary hotel to use as backup. There is no possible way to sell out of room before the end of January. You will have time to book and secure your room.

Also a reminder that the 2nd floor will be used as a party floor and that ALL parties must be on the second floor only. So if you want to have a small soriee please let the hotel know and they will make accommodations for you.

Another year, not just another convention. We all learned something new this year at TeslaCon. I learned more than 50 people would preregister for next year- try over 320 people. I also learned that TeslaCon 3 is the most anticipated Steampunk Convention in the country. Literally all types of fans from around the US and abroad have contacted me about attending. Even vendors from the far eastern shores of Maine and Ne Hampshire to California and New Mexico have contacted us.

I received well over 300 thank you notes and letters from fans who attended, and they are still coming in. I never in my wildest imagination could have seen this happening. TeslaCon 2 theme was unquie ebough but now with the Moon trip ready to begin, fans have truly started to become excited. I received a letter from a woman in Wyoming who has already started her new dress for the ball. This is 2 weeks after T2, and she wanted to get started. The fever of excitement is greater than anything I have ever seen for a convention, it with all the new tickets we sell it only seems to be growing.

I do want to officially thank all my staff and volunteers for making this year so much fun. Also the people who did not show, the volunteers who helped in other ways that made this event work so well. You are all important and very much needed. I can never thank you all enough. More of you have also signed up for the forums as well. Remember if you do please make a concerted effort to post at least once a month, it helps keep things active and makes us aware that you are listening and are out there.

While our theme may be the first of it’s kind for a Steampunk event, the planning going into this one will blow away any doubt that TeslaCon is the most unique and detailed Steam convention in the world. From the crews new uniforms complete with authentic styling and braising to the dress Queen Victoria will wear…oops, did I say to much? The new wall art and even the sound efx for the halls have been started in earnest.

I know everyone is excited, and everyone wants to know everything right now, but I do need patience. There will be emails sent out with instructions for all pre-registered members soon, and then month;y updates as well. If you know of friends who did not get to go this last time tell them to sign up, encourage it in fact. There will be a limited amount of tickets again, and we sold out 2 months early last time. If I kept the same number we had this year we would be more than 75% sold out as of this date. So don’t delay.

Here are a few tidbits I can share with you:

•    There will be two special gala’s this next year. The main TeslaCon Ball and the Steerage Dance.
•    We will have the kickoff before launch with Proctocus himself appearing in public for the first time.
•    Santa, YES Santa Claus himself and Krampus will be there during the weekend for pictures and story content.
•    Friday nights big event will shock and amaze you with hilarity and fun times…just wait and see.
•    There will be two ball rooms this year to accommodate everyone during the weekend.
•    More ships and crews will be in attendance than ever before-ALL part of the storyline.

So for everyone who came to TeslaCon 1 & 2, Thank YOU! For all of those still to come, we look forward to having you and being your hosts for the most spectacular weekend in the world. Get ready, sit back and prepare for the ride of your life. TeslaCon 3 is getting ready to go to the Moon!

I want to thank everyone who was part and participated in TeslaCon 2.

I can never thank everyone enough for helping me create the world and immersion so many have fallen in love with. From the sounds in the halls to the immersion actors, everyone had a part.

I also want to thank all those who are behind the scenes that do not get noticed. Your work dealing with issues all year round is most valuable and needed for this to continue.

TeslaCon as many of you know has a soul, a definite core that is unlike any other convention. You can notice it while watching the Choo Choo dance on (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1l1sOkG2kg) YouTube. The shear joy and happiness everyone feels is like a contagious sneeze that goes around the room. Everyone is absorbed and fully into the excitement.

When we announced there where 270 tickets pre-sold for next year- 30 more folks rushed out to buy even more- we are now at 311 plus pre-reg and expected grand royales. That’s 450 so far!!! Plus what will happen in the second week of December when tickets go up for general sale.

Many thought this year was exciting with the story line and immersion, I promise next year to take it to a level you have never dreamed possible. You truly will believe a convention can fly- into the farthest reaches of your imagination.

This is only the beginning everyone- the story is just starting- and the excitement is has just begun. I hope all of you will soon discover the magic that is known as TeslaCon.
